To achieve this, the Foundation develops innovative educational, vocational training, and social programs based on learning through dialogue. In this way, the development of skills and values takes place through experience and practice. The focus is on the growth, identity, and critical thinking of children and young people through teachers, social workers, community stakeholders, and parents. Based in Geneva, with local offices as well, Graines de Paix operates internationally, in Switzerland and France. It collaborates with ministries, institutional partners, and academic experts for its national programs, as well as with schools and community centers for its local initiatives.

To manage its programs in Africa, Graines de Paix is looking for an Africa Project Manager with experience in project development and management.


Position overview

Under the supervision of the Head of Programs, the Project Manager is responsible for designing, leading, and implementing projects across countries in Africa, while ensuring compliance with operational, financial, and reporting requirements.

Key responsabilities

  • Conceptualize, plan, and structure projects (objectives, deliverables, timeline, budget)
  • Lead projects throughout their life cycle
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes and contribute to project evaluation
  • Ensure coordination between internal and external stakeholders, both local and international
  • Ensure compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Prepare reports for donors and partners
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals
  • Contribute to the drafting of funding applications

Profile sough

  • University degree (Master’s) in project management, international relations, education sciences, or a related field
  • Project management certification strongly preferred (for example: Project Management Institute – PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in an international context and/or within an NGO
  • Experience in the education sector, or a strong interest in this field and its current evolution
  • Proven experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Strong command of project management methodologies (project cycle, logical framework, risk management)
  • Ability to structure, plan, and lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent skills in budget monitoring and reporting
  • Good command of project management tools (MS Project, Asana, or equivalent)
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical rigor and attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams remotely
  • Excellent writing skills in French and English
  • Autonomy, proactivity, and a strong sense of responsibility

Required Aptitudes

  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English; knowledge of German is a plus
